Your Books at Tradeshows

Many members have shown interest in having their books represented at book tradeshows and conferences. Later this month, NMBA will represent about two dozen authors and three dozen titles at the NMLA conference in Albuquerque. In June, there are two more opportunities:

  • The International New Age Trade Show West (INATS) will be held in Denver, June 24-27; and
  • The American Library Association (ALA) conference will be held in New Orleans, June 23-28.
Each of these shows has a different focus and purpose, so we encourage you to visit their websites to determine if either show is right for your book.

Since NMBA can't be at every tradeshow, we are working in partnership to support members who plan to attend these shows, offering communications and coordination assistance, some materials, as well as the NMBA name and the expertise of board members who have attended shows in the past.

Arielle Guttman (505-984-8330, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) is coordinating the effort to have a presence at INATS. She needs to hear from you immediately if you are interested in physically attending the Denver show or in having any of your books represented, as the deposit to reserve a booth is due by Friday.

Devon Ross (505-983-7560, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) is taking the lead with the ALA and is particularly interested in hearing from publishers who want to attend the conference in New Orleans.

A presence at these shows is dependent upon your support. All members who would like to contribute to these efforts or to be represented at these shows should contact Arielle and Devon respectively.
