Richard Harris, In Memorium

Richard Kent Harris
October 22, 1947 - November 24, 2011

Richard K. Harris died at home on November 24 after a short illness. Richard had an unparalleled career as a defense attorney; author of more than 30 books, mostly travel related; and editor or designer/producer of some 250 books. His latest achievement was as co-screenwriter of Water Walk, a feature film to be released next April in 200 theaters, including 1 in Santa Fe. What made Richard special was not the excellence and number of his many achievements but his generosity in sharing his knowledge and wisdom, his warmth, and his infectious enthusiasm for books. 

Richard was a foundng member and past president of New Mexico Book Association and continued on the board until the end. His partner, Ellen Kleiner said, "No doubt he will continue to vote on important issues."
